The new film adaptation of Secret Garden based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett was due to be released on Good Friday. Sadly this has had to be postponed with a new release date of August.

I was quite excited about this film: firstly because it was one of my favourite books as a child, secondly a spring launch would inspire people to get out in the garden and thirdly, in anticipation of the film, we were delighted to part of a Secret Garden inspired photoshoot last June.

Using the rambling roses in her garden as a backdrop, Natalia Wilmott of My Billet Doux styled this beautiful photoshoot in her garden and home on behalf of York Wedding Suppliers. We are honoured to be part of this group and to supply our leaves to some of the very talented members to create gorgeous wedding accessories.

Skeleton Leaves in the Floral Arrangements

With its Secret Garden theme this photoshoot was always going to be focusing on romance with a distinct vintage look. Using shades of pink and greens the results were stunning. Gaynor from Gayflowers used our baby pink, ivory and gold bodhi leaves in the bridal bouquet and our pink skeleton leaves in the flower arrangements. She also used gold bodhi leaves to complement the pink roses in the button holes.

We had to photograph between showers, so there are not so many photos outside as we had hoped – but I’m sure we can all agree that our model, Rosie Geall, looks amazing in this romantic dress form Bridal Reloved York.

You can see plenty more photos and a video of the photoshoot over on the York Wedding Suppliers website.
